Threatening Android Market BlackBerry And Windows

Although not able to shift the position of the BlackBerry and the iPhone in terms of sales, mobile phone-based Android operating system still regarded as a serious threat in the race for market share. Android phones sales increased forcing BlackBery smartphone and Windows-based smartphone to share consumer.

According to data from Nielsen Company reports regarding the consumption of smartphones in the U.S. during the last 6 months was noted that in Q2 2010 sales reached 27 percent of Android. In fact, when viewed in the same period in 2009, Android market share is only 4 percent. 

 

When compared with iPhone sales in Q2 of 2009 which recorded 23% of sales, but record numbers are not moving from 23% in the same period tahun2010. But it should be noted that the four mobile iPhone emerged on June 24, 2010, just before Q2 is complete. This means that sales in the first week the iPhone 4 that at 1.7 million may be covered by the data. But following weeks of sales already exist in Q3, so it may not yet registered.

As for sales of BlackBerry phones and Windows-based smartphone has decreased. BlackBerry has decreased from 45% to 33% rate. Windows-based smartphone has decreased by 12%, from 27% to 15% rate.

It would be more interesting if we listened to annual data on sales of mobile phones from a variety of operating systems mentioned above. Or maybe we can listen to the fight grabbing market share after Q3.
