
No.2 largest PC manufacturer in the world, Acer launched various new products, to help companies navigate the tablet computer market growing rapidly and compete with the iPad, Apple production.
Tablet computer market became crowded as more companies manufacture the new device, no longer a traditional PC and smartphone.
Chief executive of Acer, Gianfranco Lanci announced at a press conference in New York on Tuesday (23/11) that Acer tablet will have a screen 5, 7 and 10 inches, using Google's Android software and a second 10-inch tablet that will use Microsoft Windows .
Company Acer said the only tablet WiFi model will come out in April 2011, while the third generation 3G model will arrive about a month later, at the same time with dual 5-inch tablet as a smartphone.
Separately on Tuesday, rival Acer, Dell also announced the company's new tablet that runs on Microsoft Windows software.
Acer, based in Taiwan, said it was in talks with U.S. phone operators for 3G connectivity for its tablet and there is no price set for the device.
NPD analyst Ross Rubin said, "This is a gold rush now, everyone wants to get a tablet product out there."
