United States of America has just launched its biggest satellite ever to orbit the earth, while the purpose of this satellite is still secret, but we know this is not a satellite to monitor the weather. Its mission is to gather intelligence for the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office.
The satellite, dubbed NROL-32, was sent into orbit yesterday by a Delta 4 Heavy rocket - the largest unmanned rocket booster liquid-fueled most powerful. U.S. National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Director Bruce Carlson said that NROL 32 will be "the largest satellite in the world."
All these superlatives it is not possible just a result of America's obsession to create the largest satellite, in fact, the NRO launched nearly as many small vehicles into space just as large. More precisely, however, NROL-32 has a very important job: to replace Cold War-era satellites which expired.
We hope that big new satellite sent into orbit will continue to be sustainable, and achieve what the NRO dita-seek in science and technology.
