The following trick you can use as alternatives to protect your personal data from the hands of ignorant in a way that a little extreme, ie by hiding the partition or drive letter on your Windows XP system.

2. Type list volume hit enter, it will display all existing partitions.
3. Suppose you have 2 partitions of drive C and D, if drive D that you want to hide then select the volume type d hit enter, it will come out a message of Volume 2 is the selected volume.
4. Then you type remove letter d hit enter, it will exit Diskpart message Remove the Drive Letter, partition or drive letter D has been successful in hiding.
5. Exit from the DOS Command Windows by typing exit and enter.
6. Restart your computer, go back to the Windows system drive D then it was not seen again.
To be able to access the D drive back that we hide, repeat steps 1 through 3 and then on the 4th step, replace remove letter d command with the command assign letter d and press enter, continue by repeating steps 5 and 6.
